25th Annual Safe & Super Halloween: The Magical World of Harry Potter
: Fairytale Town, Oct 28-Oct 29, Fri & Sat 5pm-9pm
Trick or treat at 17 candy stations as you search for the remaining horcruxes. Wander into Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault or seek the Room for Requirement. Head to the Children’s Theater to test your Harry Potter knowledge. Hands-on activities include classes in Divination & Potions, and more. Just stay clear of those nasty Dementors!

 

Night of 1000 Pumpkins 

 Night of 1000 Pumpkins: Historic Old Folsom, Oct 28, Fri 6pm-9pm
Come down to Historic Folsom as they light up the streets with carved pumpkins. There will be trick-or-treating at local merchants and a movie outside under the stars.

 

The Haunted Fort


The Haunted Fort
: Sutter’s Fort, Oct 28-Oct 29, Fri & Sat 6:30pm-9pm *Tours depart every 10 minutes
Daring guests can venture to Sacramento’s oldest establishment for this fascinating and popular Halloween event. Amid the glow of firelight, historical characters will take Fort visitors on 45-minute guided tours through the various darkened rooms, many of which are said to be haunted by past inhabitants.

Join for a celebration of the harvest season: Davis Soroptomists' pumpkin patch; farm-fresh pizza from the Davis Farm to School and Caffé Italia; Davis Food Co-op's Delicious Cooking Demo with Local Fall Ingredients; Harvest-Pie-by-the-Slice; live music by Peter Franklin Band; plus plenty of activities for kids.

Going Batty at the Discovery Museum

With Halloween upon us, ghosts, goblins, and witches abound. For this weekend only, the Museum is highlighting another infamous creature of the night...bats! Bring your family to explore some of the science behind these nocturnal mammals.

Halloween Puppet Show: Carmichael Library, Sat 2pm-2:45pm
Puppet Art Theater Co. presents Frankenswine, a zany version of the classic Frankenstein.

 


Costume Parade 

Costume Parade: McKinley Library, Oct 29, Sat 4pm-5pm
All ages are invited to parade around McKinley Park, starting at the library. Bring out even the smallest trick-or-treaters to show off their costumes. Treats will be given to all participants. Great photo opportunity with backdrops set up in front of the library.

 


Mansion After Dark

The Mansion After Dark
: Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park, Oct 29, Sat 6pm-9pm
Dimly lit with darkened rooms and “coffin corners,” the Mansion will be a decked out in Halloween decor for guests to see the historic site in a whole new light. With costumed characters and scary music to set the mood, storytellers captivate visitors with tales of the past lives of governors and fortune tellers share predictions about interesting futures.
