This Week: Finding Holiday Cheer

There's always something to cheer about here in Sacramento and this week is no exception: You'll find the State Capitol all-a-glitter with the annual lighting of the State Christmas Tree, K Street and the Governor's Mansion embrace their Christmas pasts and plenty of opportunities to squeeze in a little holiday shopping.

Hot Toddy Competition
The Golden Bear

At this 12 Days of Midtown event, Sacramento bartenders will "duke it out" to see who will earn the coveted title of Hot Toddy Champ. Event proceeds will support Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.

Thursday, December 12

State Capitol Tree Lighting Ceremony
CA State Capitol - North Steps
4pm-6pm

Join Governor Jerry Brown as he illuminates the State Christmas Tree! While there, donate a canned good item to feed Californians in need.

Saturday, December 14

Santa Parade

Marching bands and community groups will help Santa & Sacramento ring in the holidays.

This Week: Counting Down to Christmas

Now that the hustle-and-bustle of Thanksgiving and Black Friday is over, make the most of December right here in Sacramento. This week Midtown Sacramento businesses gets in the holiday spirit, Sacramento Ballet dancers transform into sugar plums fairies and the halls of five Fab Fourties homes will be decked with boughs of holly with its annual holiday home tour.
