May is National Hamburger Month. That's right, you can take advantage of this opportunity to eat as many burgers as you want throughout the entire month. Okay, not really. We don't want you to have a heart attack. We do, however, give you permission to try one or two fabulous burgers at any of our Sacramento area restaurants.
We at the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau love our burgers. We have, as a service to our readers and fans, put together a list of our top three favorite burger restaurants, pubs and diners for you all to enjoy.
First up: Formoli's in East Sacramento was hands down the favorite among CVB employees. I have been told that the Whiskey Burger is not to be missed. Here's what Stacy Mello (Events Coordinator) said about it,
"SO good. Lots of sauce and cheese and goodness. Everything is melted together perfectly." Enough said.
Next up is Hoppy Brewing Company, a family-friendly neighborhood pub. Amanda McCarthy (Partner Services Manager) loves to take her family to Hoppy's on Sundays where kid's meals are just 99 cents. Hoppy's not only makes great hamburgers, but great veggie burgers too. And get this: with each adult entree purchased, parents take home a 22 oz. bottle of Hoppy Beer. Now that's a deal. Check it out.
Finally, Spinburger at 16th and K Streets, downtown. Rachel Lankford (Sac365 editor) describes it perfectly when she says,
"I love the Gardenburger at Spinburger! It's homemade, super delicious and customizable. You can get it wrapped in lettuce or a bun, pick your toppings and choose your side. Top it off with a hip, lively atmosphere and your taste buds (and with an in-house DJ spinning music - likely your ear buds) are on their way..."
Is your mouth watering yet? Mine sure is. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend? Like any true American, I will be out eating hamburgers in celebration of National Hamburger Month. I'm sure you'll be doing the same.
Oh, and just in case our top three choices are not enough for you, we have also listed some additional fabulous burger recommendations straight from our staff. Enjoy!
