Guide to NCAA March Madness in Sacramento

Can you feel the excitement?! It’s March Madness in Sacramento! The city is abuzz as the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships Rounds 1 & 2 are right around the corner on March 17 and 19. Tickets are still available; be a part of the college basketball’s most exciting event and watch the teams compete on the Road to the Final Four!

Free Practice Day – Thursday, March 16
This practice is free to the public and affords all who attend an opportunity to see the nation’s top college teams go through their practice routines and drills. Plus, it’s your chance to see Golden 1 Center if you haven’t yet done so. Each individual team will be taking the floor for approximately 40 minutes at a time so come on down for an exciting fan experience.

NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships Round 1 – Friday, March 17
Eight teams go head to head in four games on Friday. The games will be split into two session with two games in each session. Game schedule will be announced on Monday, March 13. NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships Round 2 – Sunday March 19
Stay tuned on Saturday, March 18 as the schedule for the final two games in Sacramento on Sunday will be announced. Four teams will face off in two games! Be there as two teams make their way to the Regional Championships and into the NCAA Sweet 16! 

Transportation and Parking
The Road to the Final Four starts in Sacramento at Golden 1 Center. There are many options when traveling to the center; here are a few tools to help you plan your trip.

Sacramento Regional Transit
Sacramento Regional Transit (RT) is offering FREE rides on Light Rail all day on Friday, March 17th to tournament ticket holders. RT has five light rail stations near Golden 1 Center, with the closest at 7th and K Streets. The Sacramento Valley Station, offering train, bus and taxi service, is located at 4th and I Streets. Driving a car
To help the public plan ahead, the City of Sacramento has created an online platform, www.GetHereSac.com, which offers event attendees and the public a one-stop shop of resources to create a custom travel plan when getting to and from the Golden 1 Center.
